Midwest Express

Midwest Express is the name of the scheduled passenger flight of Midwest Airlines. Midwest Airlines was established in the year 1948 to provide air transportation to the company executives between the company's headquarters and their mills. However, Midwest Express was established in the year 1984. In the year 2002, Midwest Express changed its name to simply Midwest since the 'express' service came to be associated with a regional airline and Midwest was not a part of that airline. Midwest has its base at General Mitchell International Airport in the city of Milwaukee in the state of Wisconsin, United States. The airlines operate direct flights from the city of Las Vegas to the city of Milwaukee. That is, the airlines operate flights from McCarran International Airport to General Mitchell International Airport.

Midwest at present plies to 23 destinations throughout United States. The airlines ply scheduled passenger flights to domestic destinations throughout US. The name of the sister airlines owned by Midwest Group is Skyway Airlines. However, Skyway Airlines plies regional service under the name Midwest Connect. The airline has earned reputation for offering Signature Service to its passengers that comprises of leather seats and fresh-baked chocolate-chip cookies. In May 2005, Midwest announced a new on-board meal service for its passengers in place of 'In-flight Cafe'. The extensive fleet of Midwest includes 25 numbers Boeing 717-200 aircraft, 6 numbers of McDonnell Douglas Md-81/82 aircraft, 2 numbers each of McDonnell Douglas Md-81 aircraft and McDonnell Douglas Md-88 aircraft.

The frequent flyer program of Midwest is named Midwest Miles. The later maintains one airport lounge called Best Care Club at the main hub of the airlines that is General Mitchell International Airport. In May 2007, the airlines has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Northwest Airlines and formed a code share agreement with them. As a result of this, the passengers of Midwest will get to choose from 1000 new flight options.
